Jude colored and Owen taped it their bedroom walls....and let me tell you, Jude is a prolific artist! Owen got his workout in, getting up and down off the bed, to retrieve the pic and tape it to the wall. The pictures on the OTHER walls have a few more colors on them, but at this stage of the game, the inevitable competition kicked in, and Jude was trying to color faster than Owen could tape and hang....hence the monochromatic theme. :)
During one of the breaks in the rain, the boys went outside to ride Owen's vehicle. Jude's has been "in the shop" with a broken gear for a few days. His vehicle is smaller and can't hold but one person, apparently, without breaking. We knew it had been sounding funny for awhile, but it finally just went kuput!
If you are wondering at the side-saddle thing, Owen's vehicle is too big for Jude to press the pedal, and Owen can't reach it from the pillion position in back, so in order to let Jude "drive", Owen has to ride side-saddle and push the pedal for him. Don't worry, we don't let them out of the cul-de-sac like this!
Note the weapon. Our court is safe, have no fear! They are on patrol for Forces of Evil....
I find it interesting that Owen, who is normally a more tentative, non-adventurous type, is very confident and experimental on this vehicle. He rides well, is very aware of his surroundings, and I've had drivers on the street stop and tell me how polite and safe he is at the cross-walks (I was with him, he was just a little in front of me on the side-walk), but he also has experimented, again only in the cul-de-sac, with driving with no hands, standing up, skidding out, etc....all very NON-Owen type things. (Before you freak out, these vehicles do NOT go very fast at all. I keep up with them, walking.)

And lastly, our neighborhood celebration was rained out. So we went out and bought sparklers and snakes, and set them off in the driveway. (I can NOT believe that fireworks were not on sale the day AFTER the holiday! Boo!)

And two pyromaniacs were born......The End.
